POLICY ON USE OF TEMPLE HALL

UNDERLYING PRINCIPLES

  1. The building that is treated as a Hindu Temple, with deities for whom daily poojas are done, should have its sanctity preserved at all times.
  2. The Management Committee is responsible to the general body of the Association for the manner in which the Temple activities are carried out and Temple assets are utilised.

GUIDELINES FOR THE USE OF TEMPLE HALL

The Temple is to be used for prayers (abishekams, poojas, bhajans and satsangs) conducted in formats as decided by the Management Committee of the HTA.  Devotees, individually or in groups, may request for variations and or additions for specific occasions.  The Management Committee will consider all such requests, and make an appropriate decision after consultation with the Resident Priest (when necessary).  By this process the Management Committee takes on responsibility for the change.

Any setting -up of temporary arrangements for Gurus should be carried out before the commencement of daily Poojas/ Festivals or after completion of them and that too with absolute minimal disruption to the Temple proceedings.

The Temple Hall may be hired for Hindu weddings conducted by the Resident Priest.  The use of the Temple Hall for weddings will be in strict adherence to guidelines set for such purposes.  Please contact the Administrator for bookings on 9493 3945.

Classes for the promotion of Sanatana Dharma and its principles (including the teaching of bhajans and hymns in any language) may be conducted in the Temple Hall, with the agreement of the Management Committee. Conduct of any classes arranged privately will not be permitted in the Temple Hall.

The Management Committee welcomes all spiritual leaders and Sanyasis who follow the principles of Sanatana Dharma to the Temple.  To ensure that these enlightened souls are welcomed in the appropriate manner and accorded due respects, all devotees sponsoring / arranging the visits of these persons are requested to seek the approval of the Management Committee before confirming any programmes at the Temple.

Only the Management Committee or its authorised representatives are to collect any fees, donations, etc. for activities at the Temple.  (The informal sharing of costs by devotees co-hosting any festivals is excluded from this requirement.)
